high speed rail in america

high-speed-rail

I find it hard to believe that the phrases high speed rail and united states will ever be truthfully used in the same sentence.  I hope I’m wrong, but the powers that exist conspire very strongly against it.  One way of changing the way we think about transportation is to see hard evidence that compares cars to trains for per capita expense and energy consumption.  I think trains would win.

Here is a map from the Obama plan.
