My name is Peter Rudd and this is my weblog.  I began blogging in January of 2008 with a site called coromandal which is about a lot of things including migration, transience, and the untangible or unseen world. 

 

straw dogs carries over some of the same themes as coromandal.  It is principally about contemporary culture and its discontents with an emphasis on elements of culture whose purported meaning is significantly different than its underlying meaning.

 

straw dogs are substitutes.  They are devices used to distract attention away from what is actually going on.  They are everywhere if you look and are willing to see.
